Social Shelf legal

Terms & Conditions

These Terms explain the rules for creating, publishing, and visiting Social Shelf profiles. Account holders remain responsible for their profiles, content, photographs, links, claims, and transactions.

Effective date: October 4, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-04-v1

Important: These Terms are a detailed product draft and must be reviewed and completed by a qualified lawyer for the legal entity, countries, payment model, and users Social Shelf will serve before public launch. Read the Privacy Policy and Community Standards too.

1. Agreement and acceptance

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Social Shelf concerning your access to and use of Social Shelf, including the Social Shelf website, account dashboard, profile builder, public profile pages, media hosting, analytics, templates, links, offers, and related software and services (together, the “Platform”). In these Terms, “Social Shelf,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the legal entity that operates Social Shelf. The legal entity, registered address, and legal contact details must be completed by Social Shelf before these Terms are relied on as a final legal document.

By creating an account, checking the acceptance box, clicking an acceptance button, connecting a third-party login, publishing a profile, or otherwise accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Notice, and the Community Standards. If you do not agree, you must not create an account, publish a profile, upload content, or use the Platform.

If you use the Platform for a company, organization, client, team, or other person, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity or person. “You” then includes both you and that entity or person.

2. What Social Shelf provides

Social Shelf provides technology that allows an account holder to create, customize, host, publish, and share a creator, business, professional, or personal profile. The Platform may allow users to add text, photographs, graphics, social accounts, external links, products, services, property references, booking destinations, downloads, contact details, recommendations, and other profile components.

Social Shelf is a technology platform. Unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, Social Shelf is not the seller, supplier, agent, broker, landlord, employer, publisher, financial adviser, medical provider, legal provider, real-estate professional, booking provider, payment processor, delivery provider, or other provider of any product or service described on a user profile.

For example, if an account holder publishes a property reference, a product recommendation, a course, a booking offer, a professional service, or a statement that a house is available for $100,000, that information and any resulting transaction are the responsibility of the account holder and the relevant third party. Social Shelf does not own, sell, inspect, verify, price, transfer, deliver, insure, or guarantee that property, product, service, offer, or statement.

3. Eligibility and age requirement

The Platform is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. By using the Platform, you represent that you are at least 18, have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and are not prohibited from using online services under the law that applies to you. Social Shelf currently supports people aged 18 or older.

You must not create an account for a child, allow a child to use your account, or provide a child’s personal information to Social Shelf. If you believe a child has created an account or submitted personal information, contact support@socialshelf.me. We may suspend the account and delete information where legally permitted or required.

4. Account registration and account security

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining an account. You must not register an account using a false identity, a name that impersonates another person or organization, a name that infringes a trademark or other right, or a username that Social Shelf has reserved or restricted.

You are responsible for keeping your password, authentication methods, recovery email, connected login accounts, and other credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity performed through your account, whether or not you authorized it, unless applicable law provides otherwise. You must promptly notify Social Shelf at support@socialshelf.me if you suspect unauthorized access, impersonation, credential theft, or other account compromise.

You must not sell, rent, transfer, share, or give control of your account to another person without Social Shelf’s written permission. Social Shelf may require identity, ownership, or authorization information before restoring access, changing an account owner, or responding to an account dispute.

5. Account holder responsibility for profiles and links

The account holder is the publisher and principal responsible for the profile operated through the account. You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, reliability, quality, safety, and appropriateness of every profile element, including your display name, biography, claims, photographs, videos, logos, social handles, prices, property descriptions, product descriptions, testimonials, contact methods, external links, downloads, embedded material, and calls to action.

You are responsible for reviewing every destination before publishing a link and for monitoring links after publication. A link may change, redirect, break, become malicious, display inaccurate information, collect personal information, or lead to a transaction that Social Shelf does not control. Social Shelf is not responsible for loss, fraud, injury, damage, data collection, malware, misrepresentation, or any other consequence arising from a user-provided link or third-party destination.

You must comply with all laws, regulations, professional rules, advertising requirements, consumer-protection requirements, disclosure requirements, licensing requirements, tax obligations, privacy obligations, and contractual duties that apply to your profile, content, business, audience, and transactions.

6. User content ownership

You retain ownership of content that you upload, submit, publish, or display through the Platform, including photographs, graphics, text, logos, videos, audio, profile information, links, documents, and other material (“User Content”). Social Shelf does not acquire ownership of your User Content merely because you upload it or publish it through the Platform.

Social Shelf does not own your personal photographs, private profile drafts, private account files, or the personal information in your account. Social Shelf owns the Platform, software, templates, analytics systems, and other Social Shelf technology, but the account holder remains responsible for and retains ownership of User Content, subject to the licences granted in these Terms.

You are responsible for protecting any intellectual-property rights in your User Content. Social Shelf does not promise to register, enforce, monitor, or protect your copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, trade-secret, or other rights. You must not upload content if you do not have the necessary rights, permissions, releases, licences, or consents.

You must not upload a photograph or other content that contains another person, private information, a child, a property, a logo, artwork, music, or a location unless you have the necessary permission and legal basis to use and publish it. You are responsible for obtaining and retaining evidence of those permissions.

7. Profile forms and visitor requests

If you enable a Social Shelf form, you instruct Social Shelf to store visitor submissions and make them available to you in your account dashboard. You are responsible for the purpose of the form, the fields you enable, your notices and consent where required, responding to visitors, and your lawful use, retention, export, and deletion of submissions.

You must not use Social Shelf forms to request or collect payment-card details, bank information, government identifiers, passwords, health information, biometric information, precise location, information about children, or other sensitive personal information. Social Shelf may restrict or remove a form that creates safety, privacy, legal, fraud, spam, or operational risk.

Social Shelf provides the form technology only. The profile owner—not Social Shelf—is responsible for any service, booking, offer, conversation, call, reply, transaction, or outcome arising from a visitor request.

8. Licence to Social Shelf for operating the Platform

When you upload or publish User Content, you grant Social Shelf a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, format, resize, compress, encode, transmit, cache, display, publicly perform, distribute, and technically modify that User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, improve, and provide the Platform and to make your published profile available to you and your visitors.

This operational licence continues for as long as your User Content remains on the Platform and for a reasonable period afterward to allow backups, legal preservation, security investigation, abuse prevention, and ordinary deletion processes. Social Shelf may retain limited records where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

You also grant Social Shelf permission to use publicly published User Content and information about public profile use for Platform publicity, marketing, demonstrations, sales conversations, customer examples, case studies, product announcements, social-media posts, investor or business materials, and promotional examples. This may include displaying a public profile, a public profile image, a public username, public profile text, screenshots, aggregated statistics, and public links, such as showing a public realtor profile to another realtor as an example of how Social Shelf works.

This marketing permission does not transfer ownership to Social Shelf. It is a licence. Social Shelf will not intentionally use private draft content, private account files, or unpublished personal photographs for public marketing without separate permission. For named testimonials, detailed case studies, paid endorsements, or sensitive examples, Social Shelf should obtain separate permission where appropriate. You may contact support@socialshelf.me to request that a particular public marketing use be stopped or removed, and Social Shelf may consider that request, but removal is not guaranteed where the material has already been distributed, archived, cached, or incorporated into historical material.

You represent and warrant that you have the authority to grant this licence and that Social Shelf’s permitted use of User Content will not violate another person’s privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, contractual, confidentiality, or other rights.

9. Analytics, training, and aggregated insights

Social Shelf may use account, profile, visitor, click, link, product, category, offer, device, country, referral, performance, and usage information to operate, secure, analyze, test, train, and improve the Platform. This may include analytics features, product recommendations, ranking logic, fraud prevention, abuse detection, spam prevention, safety systems, internal machine-learning or statistical models, and related Social Shelf product development.

Social Shelf may create aggregated, de-identified, or statistical information from Platform activity, such as category trends, click patterns, popular product types, profile-performance benchmarks, and feature usage. Social Shelf may use that information for product improvement, research, reporting, marketing, business planning, investor materials, and related projects, provided it does not reasonably identify an individual visitor or account holder.

Social Shelf does not currently sell personal photographs, private profile data, account files, or raw visitor data to third parties. If Social Shelf later decides to sell or share personal information in a way that gives users opt-out, consent, notice, or other rights under applicable law, Social Shelf will update its Privacy Policy and provide the required controls before doing so.

Social Shelf may promote the Platform or publicly published profiles through advertising, search, social-media, analytics, or measurement providers. Those providers may process information as service providers, processors, or independent third parties under their own terms and privacy policies, as explained in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice.

10. Platform intellectual property

The Platform, including its software, source code, design system, layouts, interface, templates, themes, icons, typography arrangements, brand elements, documentation, logos, names, and features, is owned by Social Shelf or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property and other laws. Except for the limited right to use the Platform under these Terms, you receive no ownership interest in Social Shelf’s intellectual property.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Social Shelf grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. You must not copy, scrape, frame, mirror, resell, sublicense, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, bypass security controls, remove proprietary notices, use automated access, or create a competing service from the Platform or its content.

You may use Social Shelf templates and assets only through the features and permissions made available by the Platform. You must not imply that Social Shelf sponsors, employs, verifies, endorses, or partners with you unless Social Shelf has given written permission.

11. AI-generated and illustrative materials

Some names, usernames, photographs, images, illustrations, avatars, biographies, business descriptions, offers, and other sample content that Social Shelf itself provides in templates, demonstrations, marketing, or sample profiles may be fictional, synthetic, AI-generated, or digitally altered. This material is for illustrative purposes only and is not intended to identify, depict, represent, or imply an association with any real person, living or deceased, business, organization, event, or circumstance. Any resemblance to an actual person, business, organization, event, or circumstance is coincidental unless Social Shelf expressly states otherwise.

This disclosure applies only to material provided by Social Shelf. It does not permit you to use a real person’s or organization’s name, image, likeness, identity, or other protected material without authorization or another lawful basis, and it does not reduce your responsibilities for User Content under these Terms and the Community Standards.

12. Prohibited content and prohibited conduct

You must not use Social Shelf to publish, link to, store, transmit, promote, sell, facilitate, or direct people to content or conduct that is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, abusive, invasive, infringing, unsafe, or otherwise inconsistent with the Community Standards.

  • Impersonating a person, business, public figure, government body, charity, financial institution, or other organization, including creating a profile that falsely appears to belong to Elon Musk or another person.
  • Phishing, credential theft, malware, ransomware, spyware, malicious redirects, fake login pages, scams, pyramid schemes, investment fraud, romance scams, fake employment, fake housing, or other deceptive activity.
  • Using another person’s photograph, name, voice, identity, trademark, or likeness without authorization, or using a profile to harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, dox, or defame another person.
  • Publishing non-consensual intimate images, child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, trafficking, or content that sexualizes or endangers minors.
  • Promoting violence, terrorism, hate, discrimination, dangerous acts, illegal drugs, unlawful weapons, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, or illegal services.
  • Making unlicensed medical, legal, financial, real-estate, insurance, employment, immigration, tax, or other regulated claims where a licence, disclosure, or professional relationship is required.
  • Publishing misleading prices, fake scarcity, fake reviews, undisclosed affiliate relationships, undisclosed sponsorships, or advertising that violates applicable law or platform rules.
  • Uploading content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, trade-secret, moral, or other rights.
  • Using automated tools, bots, scraping, crawling, harvesting, bulk messaging, spam, or other methods to collect data from Social Shelf or its users without written permission.
  • Attempting to interfere with the Platform, evade rate limits, probe security, introduce malicious code, access another account, or defeat moderation or access controls.
  • Using Social Shelf to facilitate a transaction that Social Shelf has prohibited, or to avoid a legal, tax, licensing, disclosure, payment, or consumer-protection obligation.

13. Moderation, removal, and reserved rights

Social Shelf reserves the right, but does not assume an obligation, to review, scan, investigate, label, restrict, disable, refuse to publish, edit for technical reasons, remove, archive, preserve, or permanently delete any User Content, profile, link, photograph, account, or other material at any time. We may act with or without prior notice where we believe action is needed to protect users, visitors, Social Shelf, third parties, the public, or the integrity of the Platform.

We may remove content or suspend, restrict, or terminate an account if we believe it violates these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Community Standards, another policy, applicable law, a third party’s rights, a platform rule, or the safety or security of the Platform. We may also act when content creates legal, reputational, technical, financial, fraud, abuse, or operational risk, even if a violation has not been finally proved.

Social Shelf may remove any content, including a photograph, link, profile name, username, offer, listing, product reference, or other material that we decide should not remain on the Platform. We may delete associated files and data where permitted. We do not promise to preserve a copy for you. You are responsible for maintaining your own lawful backup of User Content.

We may preserve or disclose content, account information, logs, identifiers, and other records to comply with law, legal process, court orders, government requests, safety obligations, fraud investigations, or the protection of rights and property. We may refer suspected criminal conduct to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities.

Where appropriate, Social Shelf may provide a notice and an appeal channel. Notice and appeal are not guaranteed where immediate action is reasonably required, where disclosure would compromise an investigation, or where law prevents notice.

14. Reports, complaints, and customer support

The first and preferred channel for questions, complaints, abuse reports, impersonation reports, copyright concerns, privacy concerns, account-security incidents, and removal requests is Social Shelf customer support at support@socialshelf.me. Please include the profile URL, relevant link, category of concern, dates, screenshots, and enough information for us to investigate.

Sending a report does not guarantee removal, restoration, compensation, or a particular outcome. Social Shelf may request additional information, contact the account holder, limit disclosure, or refer the matter to a competent authority. We may prioritize threats to safety, exploitation, fraud, impersonation, account compromise, and legal deadlines.

If you report content, you represent that your report is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not submitted to harass, extort, silence, or unfairly harm another person. False, abusive, or repeated reports may result in restrictions on the reporting account.

15. Third-party websites, services, and transactions

The Platform may contain links, embeds, integrations, widgets, payment destinations, booking tools, social networks, stores, downloads, and other third-party services. Social Shelf does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, terms, prices, products, services, data collection, advertising, or conduct.

When you follow a link or transact with a profile owner or third party, you do so at your own risk and under the third party’s terms. You must independently investigate the person, business, property, product, service, price, licence, identity, refund policy, and safety of the transaction. Social Shelf is not a party to that transaction and will not mediate or guarantee it.

If a user’s link leads to a scam or harmful destination, notify support@socialshelf.me. Social Shelf may remove or disable the link, but the user who supplied the link remains responsible for the link and the consequences of their conduct, subject to applicable law.

16. Paid plans, fees, refunds, and taxes

If Social Shelf offers paid plans, subscriptions, add-ons, custom domains, or other paid features, the price, billing interval, included features, renewal terms, taxes, and payment terms shown at purchase or in a separate order are part of these Terms. Payment processing may be performed by a third-party payment provider whose terms and privacy policy also apply.

A first monthly or annual subscription payment is eligible for a full refund when the request is submitted within seven days of the charge. The latest monthly or annual renewal payment is also eligible for a full refund when the request is submitted within seven days of that renewal charge. An approved full refund stops future renewal, and Pro access ends when the payment provider confirms the refund.

After seven days, a monthly payment is not partially refunded. You may cancel the next renewal and retain Pro until the current monthly period ends. After seven days, an annual payment is not automatically refunded or prorated; you may cancel the next renewal and retain Pro until the paid annual period ends.

If you believe you were charged in error, charged more than once, experienced a technical billing issue, or did not receive the purchased service, contact support@socialshelf.me. Social Shelf will review verified billing and service-delivery problems separately from the standard seven-day policy.

Refund eligibility remains subject to applicable law, the payment provider's requirements, and reasonable protections against fraud, abuse, chargebacks, or repeated refund-and-resubscribe activity. If an account is suspended or terminated because of a violation, fraud, abuse, chargeback, illegal activity, or risk to the Platform, Social Shelf may cancel access without a refund except where applicable law requires otherwise.

You are responsible for taxes, duties, withholding, reporting, and other obligations arising from your business, content, products, services, commissions, affiliate relationships, or transactions. Social Shelf does not provide tax, legal, financial, accounting, real-estate, medical, or other professional advice.

17. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using the Platform and request account deletion by contacting support@socialshelf.me or using an available account-deletion control. Deleting an account may permanently remove the profile, User Content, settings, links, analytics, and other information. You are responsible for exporting anything you need before deletion.

Social Shelf may suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate an account, profile, username, link, upload, or other access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe it is necessary to protect users, visitors, Social Shelf, third parties, the public, or the Platform; to comply with law; to investigate suspected violations; to address fraud or security; or to enforce these Terms or another policy.

Termination may occur without a refund, except where a refund is required by law or Social Shelf chooses to issue one. Social Shelf may delete or retain content and account records as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Provisions concerning ownership, licences, confidentiality, disclaimers, indemnity, liability, disputes, and enforcement survive termination.

18. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided “as is,” “as available,” and without warranties of any kind. Social Shelf disclaims express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, quiet enjoyment, and that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, private, or free of harmful code.

Social Shelf does not warrant or guarantee the identity, authority, qualifications, licensing, honesty, safety, solvency, products, services, property, prices, claims, links, photographs, content, or conduct of any account holder, profile visitor, advertiser, partner, or third party. Social Shelf does not guarantee traffic, followers, search ranking, sales, leads, bookings, revenue, engagement, conversions, or business results.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, responsibility, remedy, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited in the jurisdiction that applies to you.

19. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Social Shelf and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, vendors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, aggravated, or consequential loss; loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, reputation, data, content, opportunity, privacy, or anticipated savings; or the cost of substitute services arising from or related to the Platform or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Social Shelf for claims arising from or related to the Platform or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Social Shelf for the affected service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred dollars in the currency applicable to the transaction.

These limits apply regardless of the legal theory, including contract, warranty, negligence, tort, statute, strict liability, or another theory, and even if Social Shelf was advised that the loss might occur. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited.

20. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Social Shelf and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, vendors, and service providers from claims, demands, investigations, proceedings, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, penalties, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from or related to your account, User Content, profile, photograph, link, offer, transaction, business, conduct, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or violation of another person’s rights.

Social Shelf may assume exclusive control of the defence of a matter that is subject to indemnity, and you agree to cooperate reasonably. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by or imposes an obligation on Social Shelf without Social Shelf’s written consent. This provision does not require you to indemnify Social Shelf for Social Shelf’s own conduct to the extent that applicable law prohibits it.

21. Changes to the Platform and these Terms

Social Shelf may add, change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, templates, storage, analytics, profile URLs, integrations, plans, or other parts of the Platform. We may do so for business, technical, legal, security, abuse-prevention, or operational reasons. Social Shelf is not responsible for loss caused by a permitted change or discontinuation.

We may update these Terms by publishing a revised version with a new effective date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice and may require you to accept the revised Terms before continuing to use the Platform or publish content. If you continue using the Platform after the effective date, you agree to the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

22. Governing law and disputes

The governing law, courts, venue, arbitration rules, and dispute procedures for Social Shelf must be completed by the operating legal entity after legal advice. Social Shelf should not publish a guessed jurisdiction or a placeholder dispute clause. Unless the final clause states otherwise, you agree to first contact support@socialshelf.me and give Social Shelf a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or protective relief, reporting suspected criminal conduct, making a privacy or copyright complaint, or exercising rights that cannot legally be waived.

23. General provisions

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Notice, Community Standards, and any applicable written order or plan terms, form the agreement between you and Social Shelf concerning the Platform. If a conflict exists, the specific written order or mandatory law controls for that subject, followed by these Terms and the linked policies.

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Social Shelf’s failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without written permission. Social Shelf may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or operation of the business.

Electronic notices, records, clicks, checkboxes, account metadata, and communications may be used as evidence of your agreement and activity. The English version controls unless applicable law requires another version.

24. Contact Social Shelf

Please direct customer support, abuse, impersonation, copyright, privacy, security, account, and legal questions first to support@socialshelf.me. Please include enough information for Social Shelf to identify the relevant account, profile, link, or content.
