Community Standards

Social Shelf is built for people to publish profiles, not to impersonate others, scam visitors, distribute illegal material, or create unsafe destinations.

Effective date: October 4, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-04-v1

1. Purpose

These Community Standards explain the content and conduct Social Shelf does not allow. They supplement the Terms and apply to account holders, profile visitors, people who submit reports, and anyone who accesses or interacts with the Platform.

Social Shelf may remove, restrict, label, or preserve content and may suspend or terminate accounts when necessary to protect users, visitors, Social Shelf, third parties, the public, or the integrity of the Platform.

2. Fraud, scams, and deception

Do not use Social Shelf to deceive people or obtain money, credentials, personal information, property, access, or other value through false or misleading conduct.

  • Fake investment, employment, rental, real-estate, charity, romance, support, giveaway, ticket, loan, or shopping offers.
  • Phishing pages, fake login pages, malicious downloads, malware, payment redirection, or credential collection.
  • False prices, fake urgency, false testimonials, manipulated evidence, hidden fees, or undisclosed commercial relationships.
  • Links that impersonate a bank, government, payment provider, social network, public figure, creator, or business.

3. Impersonation and identity abuse

Do not create a profile that falsely represents another person, organization, brand, public figure, government body, or professional. This includes profiles that pretend to be Elon Musk or another well-known person in order to gain trust, solicit money, or mislead visitors. Fan, parody, commentary, or community profiles must be clearly labelled and must not deceive visitors about affiliation or authorization.

Do not use another person’s name, photograph, voice, logo, handle, trademark, or likeness without permission or another lawful basis. Report suspected impersonation to support@socialshelf.me with the profile URL and evidence of the identity or authorization issue.

4. Synthetic and AI-generated media

Do not use AI-generated, synthetic, altered, or fictional names, images, voices, biographies, business identities, or profile content to impersonate a real person or organization, falsely suggest an affiliation or endorsement, or mislead visitors about an event, product, service, or circumstance.

If synthetic or digitally altered media could reasonably be understood as depicting a real person, real event, or real circumstance, you must clearly label it as AI-generated or digitally altered. A label does not make impersonation, deception, rights infringement, or other prohibited conduct acceptable.

5. Safety, exploitation, and harassment

Do not publish or link to threats, credible incitement, targeted harassment, stalking, doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, trafficking, or content intended to endanger or exploit another person.

Do not use the Platform to encourage self-harm, dangerous challenges, violent wrongdoing, or abuse of a vulnerable person. We may refer serious or urgent matters to law enforcement or emergency authorities where appropriate.

6. Illegal, regulated, and harmful goods or services

Do not use Social Shelf to offer, sell, facilitate, or promote illegal goods or services, stolen or counterfeit goods, unlawful weapons, illegal drugs, human trafficking, or other activity prohibited by law.

Regulated areas such as real estate, financial services, healthcare, legal services, employment, immigration, gambling, alcohol, supplements, and adult services may require licences, disclosures, age controls, or jurisdiction-specific restrictions. You are responsible for compliance, and Social Shelf may remove or restrict content even where it may be lawful in one place but unlawful or unsafe in another.

7. Intellectual property and privacy

Do not upload, publish, or link to content that infringes copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, confidentiality, trade-secret, moral, or other rights. Do not publish private personal information, identity documents, financial information, private communications, or another person’s photograph without a lawful basis and appropriate consent.

A report should be sent to support@socialshelf.me. Include the relevant URL, your relationship to the content, the rights affected, and evidence that helps us evaluate the report.

8. Spam and platform abuse

Do not use Social Shelf for bulk unsolicited messages, automated scraping, fake engagement, account farming, bot activity, malware, denial-of-service attempts, security testing without permission, evasion of enforcement, or attempts to access another person’s account or data.

9. Sensitive content and audience protection

Users must label content appropriately and must not use a warning label as permission to publish illegal or harmful material. A sensitive-content notice does not make prohibited content acceptable and does not transfer responsibility to Social Shelf.

Social Shelf may restrict content by age, region, profile visibility, link destination, or account status, and may remove content without waiting for a user to add a warning.

10. Enforcement and appeals

We may use automated signals, user reports, technical checks, and human review to identify possible violations. We may remove content, disable a link, restrict visibility, pause publishing, suspend an account, terminate an account, preserve evidence, or refer a matter to an authority.

Where appropriate, we may notify the account holder and provide a support or appeal route. We may act without prior notice where immediate action is needed, where notice would compromise an investigation, or where law prevents notice. Contact support@socialshelf.me if you believe an action was incorrect.

11. Reporting a violation

Send reports first to support@socialshelf.me. Include the profile URL, offending link or content, category, explanation, screenshots, and your contact information. False, abusive, or knowingly misleading reports may themselves violate the Terms.
